We use the information above to operate and improve the service: to create your account and keep you signed in, to generate the learning content you ask for, to sync your progress across devices, to track the goals you set, to process subscriptions, to send service-related communications (such as payment receipts and important notices), and to protect the service against abuse. We do not sell your personal information.

Synapse's core features are AI-generated. When you create a course or use features such as lessons, quizzes, challenges, coaching, or topic chat, the prompts and context you provide (for example your learning goal and your notes) are sent to third-party AI providers — currently Alibaba Cloud DashScope (Qwen models) — to generate that content.

These providers process your input under their own terms and privacy policies in order to deliver a response to you. Please don't submit sensitive personal information that isn't needed for your learning goal.

The app stores preferences and your record of having accepted these legal terms in your browser's local storage — this data never leaves your device. The marketing site sets Google Analytics cookies only after you consent through the Cookiebot banner, and you can change that choice at any time through the same banner.

You can delete your learning content (courses, notes, plans, and similar) inside the app at any time. To delete your account and the personal data associated with it, contact us and we will delete it within 30 days, except where we must keep records for legal or billing reasons (for example payment history).

Data is encrypted in transit and access is restricted to what is needed to run the service. No system is perfectly secure, so please use a strong, unique Google/email account and tell us right away if you suspect unauthorized access to yours.

The service is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13, or under whatever higher minimum age applies in your country. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority. To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details below.

The service is operated primarily on Amazon Web Services in the United States, and our third-party providers may process data in other countries. Where required, those transfers rely on the safeguards offered by the providers involved.

If we change this policy, we will post the updated version on this page and update the date above. For material changes affecting account holders, we will also notify you in the app or by email.
